Local officials have organized watch parties at community centers in the area where people are given inflatable sticks saying “Shohei Ohtani — The Pride of Oshu City” to wave when cheering for the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar as his team takes on the New York Yankees in Ohtani’s first World Series.< https://realmichigandronephotography.com/ /p>
NEW YORK — The Los Angeles Dodgers won their second World Series championship in five seasons, overcoming a five-run deficit with the help of three Yankees defensive miscues and rallying on sacrifice flies from Gavin Lux and Mookie Betts in the eighth inning to beat New York 7-6 in Game 5 on Wednesday night.
Jack Flaherty didn’t have his best stuff and was pulled after recording just four outs. The first couple of relievers that followed also had their struggles. The sold-out Yankee Stadium crowd was ready to party.

On February 8, Ohtani agreed to a two-year $8.5 million contract with the Angels, avoiding arbitration. On June 23, he hit for himself as a pitcher and the second batter in the lineup with designated hitter rules in place, making it the first time in MLB history that an American League team chose not to use a DH while a National League team used one. On July 7, he hit his 32nd home run of the year, a solo shot off of Boston Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodríguez, passing Hideki Matsui’s mark in 2004, for the most home runs hit during a season by a Japanese-born player in MLB. Ohtani became the first player to be selected as an All-Star as both a position player and a pitcher. Ohtani participated in the 2021 Home Run Derby on July 12. He lost to Juan Soto in the first round, but set a record for the most home runs in the Derby of at least 500 feet with six. In the All-Star Game, he was the starting pitcher and leadoff designated hitter for the American League.

In 104 games and 382 plate appearances in 2016, Ohtani hit 22 home runs. He also hit 18 doubles, 67 RBI, batted .322 with an OBP of .416, scored 65 runs, and had seven stolen bases. He won the Best Nine award as the designated hitter. Ohtani was the same dominant pitcher on the mound. In 21 games pitched, he had a career-low ERA of 1.86. He had a 10–4 record, struck out 174 batters in 140 innings with 4 complete games and one shutout. He also won the Best Nine award as a pitcher and won the Pacific League MVP. He got nearly double as many votes as any other pitcher for the PL for the 2016 NPB All-Star Game; he had 300,025 while #2 Shota Takeda had 158,008. He could not pitch in the event due to a blister on his finger but wound up starring as a designated hitter (DH). In Game 1, he batted for DH Yuya Hasegawa and lined out in the 8th against Scott Mathieson. Starting at DH and hitting 5th in Game 2, he homered off Shoichi Ino in the 5th to start the PL comeback from a 3–0 deficit. He singled against Ryo Akiyoshi in the 7th and scored on a hit by Kenta Imamiya for a 4–3 lead. Coming up with a 5–4 deficit in the 8th, he singled off Shinji Tajima to bring in Shogo Akiyama with the tying run. He thus produced three of the PL’s five runs in the 5–5 tie, earning him game MVP honors. He hit 165 km/h (102.5 mph) on the radar gun during the year, setting a new NPB record. The record was broken by Thyago Vieira five years later, but he still holds the record for a Japanese player.
For a second straight year, Ohtani was voted into All-Star Game by fans as the starter at the designated hitter position and he was selected as a starting pitcher again. Ohtani announced; however, that he would only participate as a hitter in the All-Star Game, even though he was considered as a candidate to start for the AL team. He declined to pitch, citing a scheduling conflict and his preference to “prioritize the season over the All-Star Game.”
An error that allows a batter to reach first base does not count as a hit but still counts as an at bat for the batter unless, in the scorer’s judgment, the batter would have reached first base safely but one or more of the additional bases reached was the result of the fielder’s mistake. In that case, the play will be scored both as a hit (for the number of bases the fielders should have limited the batter to) and an error. However, if a batter is judged to have reached base solely because of a fielder’s mistake, it is scored as a “reach on error (ROE),” and treated the same as if the batter had been put out, hence lowering his batting average.
The Yankees’ defense cracked the door open in the fifth. Judge had a flare hit directly at him ricochet off his glove. Anthony Volpe threw wide of third base on an attempted forceout. Anthony Rizzo fielded a slow roller but had nobody to flip to at first base. With two outs and the bases loaded, Freeman hit with a two-run single and Teoscar Hernandez added a two-run double, tying the game at 5.
Star wars open world game
Lots of little details make this visit to the galaxy far far away one of the most memorable of the last couple of years, but these cities felt real in a way I’ve never experience before, teeming and lived in.
Lauren Bergin Forged in the heart of the Shadow Isles, Lauren spends her evenings riding demonic horses as High Noon Senna in League of Legends. When she’s not saving souls and emoting at the worst possible time, she’s replaying Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines as a Malkavian for the billionth time and wondering how Downtown’s stop signs keep besting her. With bylines in The Loadout, Wargamer, Pocket Tactics, and Dexerto, quotes from her Diablo 4 content were showcased in cinemas across the globe, and yes she ugly cried in public. She’s also appeared as an expert speaker on BBC World Service, and has a Master’s Degree in War Studies, which somehow doesn’t help her survive raids in World of Warcraft; although, that’s probably because she mains Shadow Priest.
What I think the continual march of the genre has made clear, though, is that “living” anywhere is often a repetition of boring daily tasks: going to work, doing the laundry, cooking dinner. I don’t think I want to be “immersed” (whatever that means) in an open world anymore; I want to have a nice, tailored experience that lets me do something new and fresh. I think if Massive had built a tighter, more focused adventure and stepped away from the current model of open-world games, the studio would have made a defining Star Wars game. The elements of something great are all here. As it is now, the result is a game that tries to do so much that it simply doesn’t have the time, energy, or resources to fully succeed at any of it.
Speaking of hacking, I’m an instant fan of Outlaws’ takes on lockpicking and computer “slicing.” Kay picks locks using the same twisty key device that we always see R2D2 open doors with, but Ubisoft has gamified that tech into a quick rhythm minigame. As the concentric circles of gears rotate, you listen for beeps, remember the rhythm, then repeat it a few times to beat the lock. Slicing is even better—in a stroke of borrowed genius, hacking in Outlaws is basically a miniature version of Wordle with symbols instead of letters. Toward the end of my demo, I followed a quest that led to a slicing tech upgrade that unlocked a harder version of the minigame with more symbols.
World solitaire game
A mistake may condition the transfer of a card without affecting the display on the tableau completely. The player may simply have to rethink the sequences in place or to begin a new one to create an opening for the card retained by the wrong move.
Playing Solitaire is a soft mental activity that can nonetheless produce benefits for the brain. Despite the light meditative state the players enter when playing, they still need to analyze all the cards while taking into consideration several factors such as their suits, their number, which ones are available on the Stock pile, and which are hidden in the tableau. Then they need to create and plan future sequences to guide them to victory. By performing these simple tasks simultaneously and repeatedly, the players can experience a clear improvement in their mental skills as they can perform them quicker and quicker each time.
Solitaire provides a great opportunity to enjoy some alone time. Its simplicity combined with the low mental activity it requires creates the right atmosphere for players to be able to disconnect from the world and their problems.
Unlike with other games, the benefits of playing Solitaire are subtle and often unconscious. Memory improvement is a good example of this case. Having a good memory is not a requirement to play Solitaire. In fact, players do not need any memory skills to be able to win the game. Nevertheless, it is possible to discern improvement in the players’ memory skills as they keep playing frequently. This improvement is particularly notorious in the ability to unconsciously memorize the colors, suits, numbers, and even the order of the cards in the Stock, after going through it only once.
